Pilot Project on Guideline for Business Energy Transition

The Pilot Project on Guideline for Business Energy Transition project, commissioned by the Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD) in 2025, aimed to pilot-test and validate practical energy transition guidelines for private-sector companies. In response to rising corporate interest in decarbonization and the need for sector-specific, actionable guidance, the project sought to demonstrate how businesses across different industries can plan, prioritize, and implement measures that reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining operational viability.

PT Geni Buana Nusantara led the implementation, assessing six companies across diverse sectors through site-level assessments, energy-efficiency analysis, baseline establishment, and stakeholder consultations. We conducted technical and economic appraisals of potential interventions, identified priority decarbonization pathways, and produced costed recommendations, implementation roadmaps, and monitoring and reporting guidance. The project delivered tailored decarbonization strategies for each company, practical steps for implementation, and lessons learned to inform wider adoption of the guideline across the business community.
