The Training Module for Drive Train Maintenance project, commissioned by PT Kaltim Prima Coal in 2016, aimed to strengthen the company’s in-house capacity to maintain critical drive-train components. Given the heavy operational demands of mining equipment, the project addressed the need for standardized maintenance procedures, improved safety, and reduced risk of unplanned downtime through clear, practical instruction and guidance.
A member of PT Geni Buana Nusantara developed training modules focused on the maintenance of couplings, gearboxes, and braking systems. The work included technical documentation and step-by-step maintenance instructions, practical exercises and assessment tools to verify trainee competency, and materials tailored to the operating conditions encountered at PT Kaltim Prima Coal - the final deliverables comprised a complete set of training materials intended to support on-site training and ongoing improvements in maintenance practice and reliability.
